  • Job Title:
  • Postdoctoral Fellows – RNA regulated tumor metastasis and RNA bioinformatics
  • Employer:
  • Baylor College of Medicine
  • Location:
  • -- , TX
  • Posting Date:
  • 02-Jan-2018
  • Description:
  • The Cheng Lab at Baylor College of Medicine works at the interface of breast cancer metastasis and RNA regulation. Our research is supported by NIH RO1s and a multi-million dollar CPRIT grant from Texas. We are seeking highly motivated postdoctoral candidates who are interested in one of the following research areas:

    - Breast cancer metastasis driven by RNA regulation. We are fascinated by how RNA is dynamically regulated during normal and pathological processes. We employ a wide range of wet-lab techniques and bioinformatics. We are investigating the mechanisms by which RNA processes are regulated in breast cancer and the functional consequences of this regulation in a metastatic phenotype. We are testing the hypothesis that RNA regulation governs the plasticity of cancer cells. Current projects include circulating tumor cells, tumor immunology, and therapeutics resistance.

    - RNA bioinformatics. We utilize machine learning and big data from patient clinical trials and our own experimentally relevant datasets to investigate RNA dysregulation in driving therapeutics resistance in breast cancer. We are using single cell profiling and integrating omics data to identify key players that govern breast cancer progression at the RNA level.

Representative publications are J Clin Invest. PMID: 21393860; Genes Dev. PMID: 24840202; PNAS. PMID: 25404304; Cancer Res. PMID: 28533273; PNAS. PMID: 28716909. For a glance of our work please visit our website at https://www.bcm.edu/research/labs/chonghui-cheng

Successful applicants should have excellent computational expertise or experimental expertise in RNA, molecular and cell biology, or live-cell imaging. Interested applicants should send a curriculum vitae, 1 – 2 publication reprints, and names/contact information of three references to: chenglab.bcm@gmail.com. Please indicate “postdoc application” in the subject line.
