  • Position Summary
    The Financial Aid Coordinator performs a variety of administrative support duties in the Financial Aid Office on the Pleasantville campus, and is primarily responsible for coordinating large-scale mailings to prospective and current students, including financial aid award letters. S/he also supports the Assistant Director in the administration of financial aid for students in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program. As a member of the Financial Aid Call Center team, the Coordinator advises students on completion of financial aid applications and responds to other inquiries about financial aid requirements received via telephone, e-mail, and the help desk system, or from students visiting the office in person. S/he coordinates events for the department, orders and maintains forms and supplies, and performs other clerical duties to support the efficient processing of financial aid application forms and other documentation into the office.

    Position Duties
    -Coordinates the mailing of Financial Aid Award Letters and other large-scale communications to prospective and current students for the Financial Aid Office on the Pleasantville campus. Arranges special mail handling as needed.
    -Supports the Assistant Director in administering financial and for students in the College of Health Profession’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program by coordinating communications specific to that population and assisting with processing associated paperwork. Mails information packets, disbursement/EXIT Counseling Letters, Federal Nursing Loan (FNL) Promissory Notes & Disclosures, and Nursing Combined Degree Program packaging materials.
    -Advises students on completion of financial aid applications, resolves problems related to incorrect or incomplete application forms, and responds to a variety of other student inquiries regarding financial aid requirements and procedures received via the Call Center, in-person, through the Help Desk Ticketing System, and via email. Processes Delinquent/Default requests.
    -Assists with scheduling and coordinating the logistics of department events. Arranges educational media and graphics requests. Maintains departmental events calendar. Communicates meeting notifications and signage when office is closed.
    -Acts as back-up to the Indexer/Scanner.
    -Assists with Help Desk during peak season.
    -Acts as back up to the Administrative Manager, including occasionally supervising student and part-time employees, conducting meetings for the call center staff, submitting time sheets to Campus Director and preparing work schedules.
    -Performs various clerical duties including filing, typing correspondence, copying, and maintaining supplies, including federal forms.
    -Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Position Qualifications
    -High School diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
    -At least 2 years of administrative support experience.
    -Excellent customer service, communications and conflict resolution skills.
    -Highly organized, detail oriented and able to multitask.
    -Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and apply new technology and systems required. Banner experience preferred.

    Work Hours
    Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm. Some evening and weekend work required during peak periods and University conversion events.
