    The College of Science, Technology, Mathematics, and Health Sciences at Eastern Oregon University is recruiting for a full-time, benefits-eligible online adjunct instructor.

    12-month full time appointment.

    EOU is particularly interested in applicants who want to assist our students in reaching their professional goals.

    Appointment begins on July 2, 2018.

    Applicant is responsible for:

    The design, development, and teaching of undergraduate online courses and programs in the areas of Computer Science, Computer & Cyber & Network Security, Information Technology Management, and Software Engineering.

    Initial assignment will include the development of online courses and programs. Following is a sample of the courses the candidate may be working on:

    -CS121 Intro to Software Development: Survey course introducing computer software and its uses.

    -CS161 Foundations of CS I: Introduction to basic data representation, programming constructs, and the analysis and design of problem solutions. This course uses the Python programming language.
    -CS162 Foundations of CS II: Introduction to common algorithms for searching, sorting, exception handling, etc. This course uses the Java programming language.

    -CS221 C/C++ Programming: Introduction to programming in the C and C++ programming languages.

    -CS260 Data Structures: Introduction to commonly used data structures and their applications.

    The candidate must be committed to ensuring that every student is a full member of the EOU community and that all community members recognize, promote and take advantage of the educational and cultural value of diversity.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • A Master’s Degree in computer science or related field from an accredited institution at the time the appointment begins.

    • Successful candidates will have experience and be competent to teach in one or more of, but not limited to, the following areas of specialization: artificial intelligence, network security, information security, information management, computing systems, theoretical computing. Other relevant experience will be considered.

    • Commitment to excellence in online teaching at the undergraduate level is required.

    • Valid work authorization documents are required.

    • Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check.

    Preferred Qualifications
    PhD in Computer Science or a related field; candidates nearing completion of their doctorate (ABD) will be considered.

    Industry experience in computer science or a related field.
