    Weber State University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the discipline of Computer Science to begin in Fall 2020. Interested individuals are to demonstrate proficiency and working knowledge of a variety of computer science topics and be qualified to teach those topics in Junior and Senior level courses.

    Required Qualifications
    For a tenure track appointment, applicants must have a minimum of a PhD degree in Computer Science or related discipline.

    For a non-tenure-track appointment, applicants must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline. For non-tenure-track appointments, transition to tenure track would require approval of the Dean and Department Chair based on sufficient evidence of academic qualifications and performance. Instructor (non-tenure track) positions are renewable by separate contract at the sole discretion of the university.

    The applicant must have at least two years of applicable work experience.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Seeking applicants who are able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. They must also demonstrate proven ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with students, staff, and faculty peers. The applicant must be willing to teach day, night, and/or online courses located at either the WSU/Ogden or WSU/Davis campus.

    Preference will be given to applicants with a PhD in Computer Science or related discipline and with university-level teaching experience, as well as those with additional work experience and additional teaching experience in Computer Science programs similar to that at Weber State University.

    Salary will be commensurate with education and experience, with generous benefits.

    Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision. Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts at distances close to the eye
